Morgellons Disease (MD)

Morgellons disease (MD) is a multisystem illness characterized by overproduction of fibers made of common cell products, such as keratin and collagen. Patients typically have open skin lesions with these fibers. Most patients with MD test positive for the Lyme spirochete, and it is therefore important to screen for Lyme and the co-infections and treat the underlying infection.
